FRIDAY 13th 2009: Troy Police Department will be conducting a training exercise between 9AM and 4PM on Friday, Feb 13 at 1618 Peoples Avenue (a vacant Rensselaer property). As a result, their will be a significant TPD presence (uniformed officers and tactical officers) in and around the building. The officers will be in possession of inert firearms (safe – unloaded). Regardless, their presence would raise the concern of those who may not be aware that their actions are part of an exercise. Troy PD will be posting signs within the general area indicating that a training exercise is taking place. The activity will cease no later than 4:00PM. Additionally, Northeast Health and Rensselaer Community Relations have been made aware of this activity.
